QR Codes on Comptroller Tax Forms
The Comptroller’s office is happy to announce that we will be including QR codes on some of our tax forms, allowing customers to scan the code with a camera on your smartphone or tablet and connect to Comptroller’s office resources on the web.
What is a QR code? QR codes (or quick-response codes) are square graphics that you can scan with a camera on your smartphone or tablet, connecting you to an embedded link to web resources.
You can scan Comptroller’s QR codes to connect to Webfile. These codes are provided for your convenience as an alternative to typing in a web address, and you can choose to use them to quickly link to the tools you use most.
As we work to provide you with quick access to your information, we hope you find the inclusion of QR codes beneficial.
Note: QR codes issued by the Comptroller’s office on official communications are safe to use and do not introduce any personal tracking elements. When using a QR code, doublecheck that the source is an official Comptroller’s office document. QR codes received from unknown sources can lead to scams and fraudulent websites, much like suspicious links received via email.
